Signs are up in Ankara, near the seat of the government, saying this: "June 1. The Turkish Penal Code is changing. That in mind, on with the fight! The Women's Platform of the new Turkish Penal Code." There are four different names signed at the bottom of these posters.  "The Danish Embassy. The Swiss Embassy. The Canadian Embassy. The Norwegian Embassy."  Excuse me, what is happening here? What is this?  These are signs posted in Ankara, on boulevards running to the seat of the government, and they are signed by four embassies! It is the first time I have witnessed the implementation of such embarassment. *** Let me just quickly remind my readers of the 1961 Vienna Diplomatic Agreements. These agreements were signed by every country in the world. They were documents outlining what diplomats could and could not do within the framework of their jobs in other countries. Let's take a close look at amendment 41/1 of the Vienna Agreements:  "Diplomats are required not to get involved in that country's national inner workings."  But what do these posters, billboards, and announcements mean? How can these embassies get involved in our national business like this?  Is the Foreign Ministry asleep? Isn't there anyone in Ankara who can say "stop" to them? NO! Because our country is sittingn in the lap of foreign countries. In Ottoman times, there was capitulation, and we had to accept these humiliations. And its popped up now again in AKP times. How painful, how embarrassing. Â
