Emin Colasan: I informed on myself to the Treasury Ministry

My dear readers; have you ever heard of anyone of informing on themselves to the Treasury Ministry? Have you ever heard of anyone pleading with the Treasury Ministry to examine their finances? Maybe it's happened before, but I've certainly never heard of it. It is, however, exactly what I did yesterday morning.
Yesterday morning I sent a request to the Treasury Ministry in Ankara. Here's what I said:
"There are some publications which are currently filled with lies and allegations they purport to have been 'leaked' about my bank accounts and financial status. I request that you examine the bank accounts of both my wife and me, as well as the taxes that we have paid up until now to the state. I would also like you to provide answers to the following questions in written form:
1-Are there any bank accounts belonging to me or any member of my family which contain 9 million dollars, or anywhere near that amount?
2-Are there in fact 21, or anywhere near 21, deposit accounts that I have opened in my name?
3-Do we have any foreign or off-shore bank accounts?
4-Are there any unexplained companies, people or organizations not related to my work that regularly deposit money into my accounts?
5-Have any deposits been made from abroad into my accounts?
6-Was there any period during which I was not regularly paying taxes?
7-In terms of monetary business, was there any incident wherein I broke the law, or did something against the state law?
8-We have regularly informed the government as required about our financial status. Is there anything that shows this to be untrue?
9-Is there anything suspicious in any of the above matters I have just listed?
I request that the above questions be answered and looked into in as short a time as possible, and that if necessary, any legal business be started right away.

Yes, that is the request I sent in to the Treasury Ministry. Please don't think it's too strange. For days, I have been writing that I am an honest man. I have been documenting these lies and accusations for days now. But even if only a few hundred people believe these lies, that alone hurts me. Which is why I wrote the request to the Treasury Ministry. We are facing a gang. They enter people's private bank accounts, and then misrepresent what they have found there. I have no idea what other politicians and journalists will do. Because the bank accounts of many people against the AKP have been entered. In fact, even bank accounts belonging to some opposition voices within the AKP itself have been entered! For example, Turan Comez's bank account. We are going through a disgusting period in our country's history. They examine people's private bank accounts, and then publish incorrect findings. The economic gangs and their henchmen are at work here.

I would have expected that the Treasury Minister would call me in to get information on all this. I would have shown him my documents, so that he could start an investigation. Being from difficult political camps is one thing, being in opposition is one thing, but "state business" is a completely different matter. For example, a prime minister might kill someone he or she doesn't like. It is then the job of the state to find the killer. In a case like this, ignoring what is happening amounts to economic terror. Who is going to trust our banking system? Yes, I have done my job as citizen. I have asked the Treasury Ministry to audit me. I await the results with pride and happiness, knowing that I have carried out a first in Turkey. And now the justice system should start turning its cogs, something we can all sit back and watch.
