Do not pity shanty towns, they are invaders

Speaking at the 1st General Assembly on Housing, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an stated that shanty towns were going to be done away with, adding that no one should pity these poeple: “Shanty towns surround cities like tumours. How can they be considered miserable? They invade these areas.”
The PM stated that these towns would be doner way with, “Take a look at those people we call pitiful. There are flats being sold with a 200 YTL monthly repayment. Let them go and buy one there. But no, ghettos are being formed instead, and you can imagine what goes on there”, spoke Mr. Erdogan.
