ISTANBUL - "Walk, see, preserve," is the motto for the upcoming bear- and wolf-watching expedition organized by the Turkish Nature Foundation and Nature Tourism.
The nature walk that will be led by Dr. Özgün Emre Can, will take place in the rich nature reserves located between Bolu, Seben and Kıbrscık, in the mountains of the northeastern Black Sea region of Turkey.
Expedition organizers have said it will be an action packed walk that will guide participants through many of the unknown wonders of the nature parks, while teaching participants unique facts about the various mammals that inhabit these areas rich with natural heritage.
The bear- and wolf-watching expedition aims to be a journey of discovery. Participants will be led by Can, an expert in the field, along wolf and bear tracks to seek the animals and get a glimpse into their habitats and lifestyles.
The expedition is open to all nature lovers and will take place between Jan. 31 to Feb. 1. A bus will set out from Taksim and reach Bolu in approximately two hours where guests will meet their tour guides. Once there they will be given a briefing and all questions about the expedition will be answered in this session. After the induction session, groups will set out on the exhibition by walking through the natural reserves following animal tracks. The main aim is to make new discoveries and find new facts about the different species focusing mainly on bears and wolves.
On the second day of the expedition, groups will move from the Bolu area to Seben and Kıbrıscık where animal marks will be easier to track with the snow. The organizing teams guarantee it will be a fun and fulfilling experience where people can make new discoveries while being at one with nature.
