Denktas: I will not run for Presidency

Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas said that he will not run in next year's presidential elections and that, either Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat or Deputy P.M. Serdar Denktas would replace him."I will be 82 year's old next year. If I have 3-5 years left, I have the right to live it on my own.  Neither me nor my family plan me to run for the post. There is Talat, Serdar. These people are promising for us," Denktas said. About the political future of his son Serdar, Denktas said that "If his family name were not Denktas, he would be made a crown of the people. Because his  surname is Denktas, he is growing mature from the stones hurled at him. I  watch him with appreciation. He is well-trained, strong, aware of the facts. I am pleased. A person does not just gets born but also gets trained."Â
