GANGNEUNG, South Korea - Angelina Jensen defeated Jennifer Jones of Canada 7-6 yesterday to give Denmark the bronze medal at the women's world curling championships. The teams traded singles through the first four ends before the Danes snapped a big three-ender on the Canadians in the fifth end and jumped to a 5-2 lead.
Three ends later, 2008 world champion Canada took two in the eighth and then stole the ninth when Danish fourth thrower Madeleine Dupont hit and rolled out on her first throw and then chipped and rolled too far on her second. The 21-year-old Dupont, who also won bronze at the 2007 world junior championships, threw a fantastic freeze onto Canada' shot stone. China's Wang Bingyu was to face Sweden's Anette Norberg later in the final.
