DUBLIN - Czech President Vaclav Klaus angered the Irish government yesterday by publicly praising Ireland's most prominent anti-European Union activist during a state visit to Dublin.
Klaus staged a joint press conference with Declan Ganley, leader of a right-wing pressure group called Libertas. Foreign Minister Micheal Martin called Klaus' praise as "a ridiculous assertion" and "very shallow and bogus."
