27 year old Memet Y., whose fingerprints were identified on the bomb material in the wake of the incident in Marmaris, had been in hiding since August 27, but was caught yesterday when his father alerted police after the suspect arrived on a Bayram visit to his mother and other relatives in Gaziatep.

A statement from Memet Y.'s father yesterday was as follows: "Our village has always produced brave, courageous and honest people. I am embarrassed to have such a son."

Following Memet Y.'s testimony yesterday in Mugla police headquarters, police there said that the suspect had also been picked up previously in connection with a bombing in Antalya, but had been set free when there was not enough evidence to hold him.
