BODRUM - Bodrum's art scene takes on some more color this week, as the paintings of a British expatriate go on display.

Works of British artist Kris Manvell, who is living in the Torba area in Muğla's popular holiday district, Bodrum, are being exhibited in what will be the year's second event at the Bodrum Municipality Assembly Hall Art Gallery. Manvell's output covers many genres of the arts, as he is a poet, writer and musician. The 20 works of London-born Manvell include the first piece he painted in Bodrum.

He is excited about meeting Turkish art lovers for the first time and has revealed how living in Turkey has inspired him.

"After deciding to settle in Bodrum Torba, a series of thoughts appeared in my mind, like everything is connected," said Manvell. "I tried to explain this phenomenon, the beauty in that connection in my works, which are all connected in a way." The exhibition at the Bodrum Municipality Assembly Hall runs until Feb. 14.
