A bombed attack took place on the Canal Hotel, used as UN headquarters in Baghdad, with a truck loaded with bombs. At least 3 people died and many others, including UN Iraq Envoy De Mello and UN Oil for Food Program Director Benon Sevan, were injured in the hotel, where hundreds of UN officials were working.Turkey’s Bagdad Embassy Undersecretary Sakir Torunlar told CNNTurk that the embassy was far from the hotel and no one from the embassy personnel was injured. Torunlar also said that no Turk was working in the hotel.Â
