The body of Gunes was discovered inside a small, snow-covered cave in the mountains of southeastern province of Kahramanmaras five days after rescue efforts were launched, Dogan News Agency reported.

His body was some 500 meters from the wreckage of the helicopter, it added.

Gunes had made an anguished phone call from the crash site shortly after the accident, saying he was wedged in the wreckage with a badly broken foot and was freezing. He said some of the other passengers appeared to be dead, and that his cell phone battery was running out.
