The Prime Minister is not sincere. He is absolutely never sincere, not on any subject. He talks about the "meeting of civilizations," and then, on the occasion of what is perhaps the most important meeting of civilizations for Turkey which occurs with the Pope's arrival here, he tries to escape, and is only held back with difficulty to speak for a few minutes with the religious leader.

He talks about "the great Ataturk," and then tries to rip out the foundations of Ataturk's greatest creation for this country, secularity.

He talks about how "we have started up a clean leadership," and then never once even attempts to rid the capital of parliamentary immunity laws. Even now, 200 AKP members' parliamentary immunity cases are waiting to be dealt with on shelves in Ankara.

He talks about how his administration is working in cooperation with international organizations to fight international terror, and then he declares himself ready to "vouch" for Arab businessman El Kadi, a man the United Nations counts as a terrorist.

He talks about "catching up with the new era," and then goes on to make a thousand and one plans for sticking the Turkish public with the "headscarf matter," an issue which has been brought to the level of a question of honor.

No, the Prime Minister is certainly not sincere.....

At no time, and on no subject.

And now, his insincerity on the question of entering the EU has finally given fruit, and part of the Turkish accession talks have been shelved.

In the wake of this shelving of certain parts of the accession talks, the Prime Minister commented "This is not important, the train may have stopped or slowed, but we are continuing on our way." This too is of course insincere.

So the train has stopped, but the train passenger, the Prime Minister, will continue on his way.

A most interesting passenger;

The train stops, but he goes.

Would somebody please tell me, does the assertion of "We will continue on our way" when the most important sections of the EU talks have been shelved have any connection with logic, intelligence, the truth, or sincerity?

I mean, it's as though while the EU organizations are saying "We will not meet," the Prime Minister will somehow attend "meetings."

If this is the case, maybe our Prime Minister will announce to us also that we (Turkey) have become the term president of the EU, and in fact have even managed to expel France from the EU too.

He is just not sincere.

Never.

On no subject.

And so this is the sad ending to the biggest project for civilization that a country like Turkey, which is so full of hopes, has ever had. Either that, or it is final disappointment for a nation of people which has for so long failed to see the "insincerity" being displayed before their eyes.
