Bargain with Brussels

PM Erdogan is flying to Brussels this week. I would not like to be in his shoes. He is expected to meet officials of the Commission as well as parliamentarians.I would not like being in his shoes because even I am distressed of the questions of foreign journalists who keep on calling me since Friday.  Since they can not get free of their prejudices when they look at Turkey. Their questions drew me crazy. They said "Do you think that the Turkish family structure and the European family structure are reconcilable?""...I would instead prefer to give them other information. For instance, the Lady Mayor of Tunceli, Songul Erol Abdil; the sole metropolitan mayor of Turkey. As a result of her campaign in which she made no promises. She was named the mayor with 36 % of the votes. She has also fought against tribes.The democratization and freedom of the region is possible, by breaking the tribal relations under which people and especially women are oppressed. .. A Children's Study Center has been launched for the first time in the city.One of the leading problems of Turkey is to save children in the Southeast, from the streets. Let me remind that the inability of Romania to cure its children with AIDS was one of the main reasons in o postponing its membership....PM Erdogan is flying to Brussels September 23. He will tell here that "We have fulfilled the Copenhagen criteria." But if he bargains on conservatism with Brussels saying that abortion is not free in Ireland or gay marriages are disputed in some countries, expecting his messages to be well perceived, is a dream.Â
