On the 21st day of the Iraq war, U.S. forces staged their victory through live footage at TV channels, On TV screens, the huge statue of Saddam Hussein was toppled by a U.S. armored vehicle in the center of the city.U.S. marine infantrymen, who entered Baghdad from the Southeast, passed the Tigris River and reached to the Al Firdevs Square, the heart of the city. There was no Iraqi soldier in the area. A group of 10-15 Iraqi people marched among U.S. tanks, showing their happiness for the arrival of U.S. troops. This group gathered around the statue of Saddam in the square. First, Iraqi people hammered the base of the statue one-by-one. Then, 3 Iraqi people tied a rope on the throat of Saddam's statue and U.S. vehicle pulled the rope to tear it down.  Statue Resisted More than Saddam HimselfIraqi people had a difficulty to topple the statue for a while and this was evaluated as, “The statue of Saddam resisted much more than his regime”. Many Iraqi people watched the demolition of the statue and then crushed on its parts spread all over the ground.
