ANKARA - Parliament has been very tense in the last few months. Tension was especially high in debates over the mine bill. Deputies were barely controlled not to engage in fistfights.

In the tired and stressed Parliament, the Justice and Development Party, the Republican People’s Party, or CHP, and the Nationalist Movement Party, or MHP, agreed to continue working until the end of June. They, in a way, have a truce.
AKP parliamentary group acting chair Nurettin Canikli said: "We’ve finally reached an agreement. We’ve made peace. Kamer Genç took the podium and lashed out at us. But I didn’t reply.
