The exhibition is the final stage of cultural and artistic events that have been taking place for about two months in Madrid, celebrating the 225th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Spain.

The exhibition displays the stories of important people from Hungary, Russia, Poland, Romania, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Iraq, who have taken shelter in Turkey.

"Among those who have trusted Turkey were Hungarian Prince Imre Thökoly, Turkey’s Ambassador to Madrid, Ender Arat Ferenc Rakoczi II, Kossuth Lajos, Miklos Kallay and Swedish King Karl XII," said Turkish Ambassador to Madrid Ender Arat. The exhibition will be open through Friday.
