The GATA Commander of the period, Omer Sarlak, who broke his silence, told the day in which the four most important Generals of the Turkish army were attempted to be assassinated with cyanide by the terrorist group PKK.Omer Sarlak, the GATA Commander of 13 years ago, wrote PKK’s poisoning attempt to Head of General Staff Dogan Gures, Land Forces Commander Muhittin Fusunoglu, 1st Army Commander Ismail Hakki Karadayi and Brigadier General Habil Kucuk in his book entitled “Barracks to Campus”.After the meal with the privates, the generals wanted coffee. Two privates prepared coffee for the Generals, offered it and run away before the Commanders drank it. Gures took a sip, Fisunoglu did not like the smell and told the Generals not to drink it, Karadayı spit the sip he had taken and Kucuk felt a burning in his throat when he drank a sip.Later it was found out that the rats which were injected with cyanide in the coffee had died in 4-5 minutes.Two privates who were members of terrorist group PKK were found dead during a clash between security officials and terrorists.
