Are Uzans in U.S?

The Turkish police had traced Yavuz Uzan in the United States but has failed to have him extradited to Turkey. There are arrest warrants for Yavuz and Kemal Uzan who are wanted by the Red Bulletin. Yavuz Uzan was found out to be living for two months in Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, under the name Samuel Roger Uzan. Bahattin Uzan, the third brother is under arrest at present.
The Turkish police who traced Yavuz Uzan from his phone conversations had demanded his extradition from U.S., with to nuccess so far, because of incomplete documents. Â
There are rumors that Justice Minister Cemil Cicek, who visited Washington last week, asked from his American colleague to hand Uzan to Turkey. However he told Hurriyet that "I did not come here, for this business."
Because Yavuz Uzan is staying at the poch hotel as a VIP, the hotel is not disclosing his identity and is connecting the callers to an answering machine.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the members of the Uzan family because of their failure to repay their debts to communication giants Motorola and Nokia, under the ruling of the New York District Court. The warrant of arrest was issued on grounds that they have not paid 4.26 million dollars to Motorola and Nokia and refused to hand the Telsim shares to the court.
