Antkart targets easy transport in Antalya

ANTALYA - Antalya locals are enjoying their improved transportation system lately.
Through Antalya’s new "Smart Stops" services, passengers can receive information about buses on their mobile phones and on new screens set up at 30 of the city’s bus stops. Speaking at a press conference, Talip Küner, chairman of board of Antkart Technology Services A.?. explained how the system works.
"The system is unique in Turkey and in the world," said Küner. "Passengers will be able to learn how long they will wait and how far away the bus or minibus is via this system."
Adding that the screens have been installed at 30 stops so far, Küner said they have coordinated with Turkish GSM operators Turkcell and Avea, while negotiations are still ongoing with Vodafone. Ê
Passengers can send a message to 9707 to receive bus times. A message containing the information is expected to come in 25 seconds.
Automatic loading points
"For the first time in Turkey, we have put automatic loading points called ’Antmatik’ at bus stops in Antalya where passengers can load their passenger cards called Antkart," Küner said.
Passengers will also be able to buy Antkart at these loading points. Küner voiced his contentment over managing to launch such a modern project. "Antalya will be a city that produces high technology in transportation," the chairman explained. "I am really proud that Antkart has managed this only in one year."
