A decision by European neo-Nazi and fascist leaning groups to meet 150 kilometers outside of Athens from 16-18 September has angered people in and around the area. The groups, which include the German National Democratic Party, the Italian Forza Nuova, the Spanish La Falange, the Romanian Noua Dreapta, and the Greek Hrisi Avgi, or Golden Dawn, are planning to make wide use of their favorite "Turkey out of Europe" slogan during the three day festival.The meeting is going ahead despite the protestations of the Greek population of the town of Meligala; mayor Eleni Aliferi has repeatedly said that the townspeople are opposed to it.  As for the Greek government, there appears to be nothing they can do to prevent it. Said spokeperson for Public Policy, Lefteris Ikonomu, "As in other EU countries, the Greek Constitution makes it impossible to ban an unarmed and peaceful group from meeting." Human rights groups in Greece have activated to try and stop the festival from taking place, though it remains to be seen if their efforts are to have any effect. Â
