CLEVELAND- LeBron James posted his third 41-point game in his last four outings Tuesday as he lifted the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 99-93 NBA victory over the Milwaukee Bucks

"King James" scored 24 of his points in the second half, as Cleveland won a fifth straight game for the first time since last January. James added five rebounds and six assists, shooting 16-of-24 from the floor and playing a season-high 43 minutes.

Mo Williams, who was acquired from the Bucks in the off-season, chipped in 16 points in his first contest against his former team.

Richard Jefferson scored 14 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter for the Bucks, who have lost three in a row and were missing injured guard Michael Redd for the fourth straight game. James scored 17 points in the first half, and the Cavaliers held the Bucks to 31 percent shooting from the floor as they took a 48-42 lead at halftime.

Meanwhile, last season’s MVP Kobe Bryant scored 27 points as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated Dallas 106-99 for their sixth straight victory.

The unbeaten Lakers are off to their best start since the 2001-02 season - the last time Los Angeles claimed the title. Last year the Lakers reached the NBA finals but fell in six games to the Boston Celtics.

Spain's Pau Gasol added 22 points and Trevor Ariza scored 13 points off the bench for the Lakers.

Jason Kidd had 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in his 101st career triple double for the Mavericks, who have lost three in a row.
