A group of Justice and Development (AKP) Party MPs has decided to come together with their voices to fight what they view is too much overt sexuality present in modern Turkish pop music. The 10 MPs, who claim their voices are easy on the ears, will give their first concert on April 22nd live on a local television channel. Bursa-elected MP Faruk Anbarcioglu, who was instrumental in putting the group together, said "The sound quality and lyric writing of pop music in particular has dropped. The group plans on taking music and voice lessons from artists from the Ministry of Culture once a week, and according to Anbarcioglu, "We will invite all of the MPs to join in once the lesson times have been decided. Our goal is to create a Turkish Parliament choral group." Â
