6 Zero Warning from ASO

Zafer Caglayan, the Chairman of Ankara Industry Chamber (ASO) said that the work on the New Turkish Lira (YTL) -without 6 zeros - which will come into effect in January 1, 2005, was not carried out in coordination.Caglayan said that the General Directorate of Mint awarded the bid of coin money three days ago and that there would be troubles in having the writing process done in time. According to the results of the poll of YTL which Caglayan announced, 77 % of the participants regarded YTL as positive. Upon the question on using a foreign currency, 88 % of these regarded that as dishonorable.  Â
