The World Cup qualifying matches continue with Turkey scheduled to play Kazakhstan in Almati on Wednesday night. After last week's no score draw against Greece in Istanbul, Turkey was left in third place in Group 2 on 13 points, two points behind the Greek team but a huge seven points behind the Ukraine. With four matches to go Turkey is looking at second-place and hopefully to get a shot at the play offs in order to qualify for the 2006 World Cup that will be held in Germany.Greece is scheduled to play the unbeaten Ukrainians on Thursday night. A Turkish victory in Almati would put the Turks into the crucial second-place needed to secure a place in the pay-offs. It should be an easy feat for the Turkish team, as Kazakhstan remain defeated in all six of their qualifying matches. Althouhg, the Kazakhstan team have not scored yet, they have lost only by a single goal. And if the Turks record is anything to go by they will have to score in the match, so far the Tukrish team has only scored thirteen times in eight games - five of which were scored in one game against Georgia.
