Turkish President Abdullah Gul will travel to Germany on Tuesday to attend opening ceremony of 60th Frankfurt Book Fair.

According to a statement by Presidential Press Center, President Gul will pay a visit to Frankfurt on October 14 and 15 to attend opening of Frankfurt Book Fair as "guest of honor".

International Frankfurt Book Fair is one of the most important fairs of the world. The fair, held every year since 1949, is known as a leading international platform and market on areas of cultural interaction and activities, and intellectual property.

Around 250 activities, including concerts, performances, art galleries as well as symposiums, under the theme of "Turkey in all Colors", will be held within the scope of the 60th Frankfurt Book Fair.

A delegation of 1000 people, including publishers, authors, translators and artists, will represent Turkey at the fair.

President Gul will visit Frankfurt Municipality Palace on October 14 and sign Golden Notebook and receive German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Gul will address the opening of the book fair and open Turkey's stand.

President Gul will meet German President Horst Koehler on October 15.
