The Turkish Parliamentary general assembly adopted on Thursday a motion which allows broadcast in different languages and dialects by the state-run TRT channel.

Turkey allowed limited broadcasting in different languages in 2002.

The first broadcasts came two years later when state television began broadcasting documentaries and news in two Kurdish dialects for an half hour each week.

The new TV channel was expected to expand broadcasts in different languages.
