Turkey and Greece to initiate joint energy projects

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said on Tuesday that he and his Greek counterpart Dimitris Sioufas have decided to initiate joint projects in the field of renewable energy.

Guler held bilateral meetings with ministers from Switzerland, Greece and Italy within the scope of the 11th International Energy Forum in Rome.
Guler told the Anatolian Agency that joint future projects on wind, sun and geothermal energy would further strengthen relations between Turkey and Greece.
Also briefing about his meeting with Walter Steinmann, the director of the Swiss Federal Office for Energy, Guler said Turkey and Switzerland would make a joint project in the field of renewable energy too.
Guler also said that Switzerland wanted to transport natural gas via Turkey. Guler is due to return to Turkey on Wednesday.
