The IMF's representative office in Turkey will be closed in the case a new agreement is not signed with the Fund, following a scrutiny of Turkey's last two-stand by performances with the IMF by the IEO, the Anatolian Agency reported on Friday.

The IMF's $10 billion loan agreement with Turkey expired in May. There has not been a new agreement signed between Turkey and the IMF yet.

The IEO's "watch after the program" report is not expected to be completed before July, 2008.

The IEO was established in 2001 to conduct independent and objective evaluations of Fund policies and activities.
