"We have almost identical attitudes and principles on issues such as the Middle East, Caucasus, Balkans and energy security, and we expect a golden era in cooperation ahead," Ahmet Davutoglu told a conference on Turkish foreign policy at the Princeton University.Â

Davutoglu held a week-long talks with senior U.S. officials including Obama's national security adviser retired general James Jones, Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg and George Mitchell, the special U.S. envoy to the Middle East.

U.S. President Barack Obama is set to pay a formal visit to Turkey in early April on his second bilateral visit abroad after assuming the office.

"Relations between Turkey and U.S. are the most institutionalized of its kind in the modern times and it is very wise that President Obama has decided to pay one of his very first foreign visits to Turkey," he said.
