Iran jails dissident cleric’s aide

TEHRAN - Iran has sentenced an aide to Grand Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Montazeri to four years in jail for publishing the views of the prominent dissident cleric, a press report said yesterday.
Mid-ranking cleric Mojtaba Lotfi was arrested in the religious city of Qom in October after publishing comments on a website by Montazeri, who criticized Iranian leaders over restrictions on freedom in the Islamic republic.
