Uskul told in a party council meeting on Saturday the AKP has no alternative plans in the closure case as he and his party did not believe it will be shut down.
"We just want the top court give a decision which is fair and consistent with laws. Anyway isn't this the duty of the courts?," Uskul added.   Â
In March Turkey's top prosecutor filed a lawsuit against the ruling AKP on March 14 demanding its closure and the banning of 71 party officials, including the Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul, from politics, claiming the party had become "the focal point of anti-secular activities.
If the Court closes the party down, the AKP would start to work on creating a new political party, the news agencies reported last week.
Uskul also told reporters on Sunday the AKP would become stronger after the closure case process, adding he expected sixty percent votes in the coming local elections.           Â
