A molotov cocktail was hurled to the garden of leftist anti-AKP Cumhuriyet newspaper's building in Sisli district of Istanbul late on Saturday. A series of bombings, released on the Cumhuriyet offices in May 2006, led to traumatic investigations in the country recently.

Security guards of the newspaper put out the fire caused by the molotov cocktail. They also captured one of the three assailants.
Â
Ali Edeoglu, an official from the newspaper, told Anatolian Agency "The person who was captured was 13-years old. The child told us he was directed to hurl the molotov cocktail."  Police is searching for the other two assailants.
Â
Cumhuriyet daily is among the strongest opponents of the AKP government in media. Cumhuriyet's columnist and chairman of the board of trustees Ilhan Selcuk, 83, had been taken into custody on March 21 under the Ergenekon operation with suspected links to an illegal gang which was accused of paving the way to a military coup.
