ISTANBUL - Top representative of Latin rock music and Grammy Award-winning guitarist Carlos Santana will perform July 6 in Istanbul almost 20 years after his performance in the 18th International Istanbul Music Festival in 1990.
The concert, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, or İKSV, will be held at the Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena with the sponsorship of Wings.
Santana, an outstanding figure of rock history for the past 50 years, has millions of fans around the world. Beginning with early recordings such as "Santana" and "Abraxas," the group's discography is full of award-winning albums.
With the legendary album "Supernatural" released in 1999, Santana won eight Grammy Awards, including album of the year, record of the year for "Smooth" and best rock performance.
Continuing his success with "Shaman" in 2002 and the subsequent albums, as well as with concert performances of hits such as "Oye Como Va," "Jingo," "Black Magic Woman," "Smooth" and "Love of My Life," Santana shows he has lost nothing from the flame of Latin rock within. Tickets are available at Biletix and İKSV, and prices are 90 and 250 Turkish Liras. Wings cardholders receive a 15 percent discount.
