ISTANBUL - An exhibition of cartoons from the annual Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition opened yesterday at the Caddebostan Culture Center in Istanbul.

According to a written statement made by the culture center, the awarded cartoons, selected from 55,000 works by 6,500 artists from 130 countries, are on display in the exhibition. This year Ahmet Öztürklevent, Agım Sulaj and Gerhard Gepp were the winners of the competition. The "Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition 25th Year Exhibition" will be open through until Feb. 27.

The Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition is held every year in Turkey by the Aydın Doğan Foundation. The competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world. It is attended by hundreds of respected cartoonists from different countries around the globe and the selection committee itself consists of well-known masters of cartoon from the world over.
