Turkish Oscars in March

ISTANBUL - The Yeşilçam Awards, regarded as Turkey’s Oscars, will be presented March 3. All Turkish films on the big screen this year qualify as candidates for the awards.
The Yeşilçam Awards will be given in 11 categories The categories include, "Best Film," "Best Director," "Best Scenario," "Best Director of Photography," "Best Music," "Best Actress," "Best Actor," "Best Supporting Actress," "Best Supporting Actor," Young Talent" and "Turkcell First Film."
Last year, the winner of the Best Film Award was Abdullah Oğuz’s "Mutluluk" (Bliss). Best Director went to Fatih Akın for his film, The Edge of Life. The event will be organized by the Turkish Foundation for Cinema and Audiovisual Culture, or TÜRSAK, sponsored by Turkcell.
