"The aim of the talks with Armenia is to start the dialogue that would remove the problems. If these problems were solved in this process, then we can have any kind of cooperation, including the opening of the borders, full-fledged relations and broader economic solidarity," Gul told reporters in the Turkish House in New York.
Turkey and Armenia do not have diplomatic relations, and the border between the two countries is closed, because of Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan.
A warmer period began between Turkey and Armenia, who for more than a decade have not had any diplomatic relations, after Turkish President Abdullah Gul paid a landmark visit to Armenia early September.
Turkey hopes this period would lead to the normalization of the relations.Â
