Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Georgia

The Turkish Airlines (THY) has resumed flights between Istanbul to Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia, which it had temporarily stopped on August 9 after clashes erupted in South Ossetia, Dogan News Agency reported on Saturday.

"THY and Lufthansa Airlines will resume flights," Dogan News Agency quoted Burak Birhekimoglu, vice president to the Turkish TAV in Georgia, which operates Tbilisi and Batumi airports as saying.
The Russian and Georgian leaders agreed a ceasefire on Tuesday, after the conflict erupted when Georgia launched its offensive on the breakaway province of South Ossetia on August 8.
