--FIRST OFFICIAL INFORMATION AFTER 13 MONTHS

The indictment about the Ergenekon probe, one of the most important cases in the history of Turkey, has been sent to the court. Chief Prosecutor Aykut Cengiz Engin of Istanbul gave the first official information about the probe after some 13 months. In the 2,455-page indictment, prosecutor demands terms ranging from 6 months to life imprisonment for 86 suspects.

--MILITARY CHIEF PROSECUTOR WANTS DOCUMENTS

THe military chief prosecutor has called prosecutor Zekeriya Oz, who is carrying out the Ergenekon probe, and asked him to send copies of all the seized documents. After examining the documents, the prosecutor will decide whether the military chief prosecutor's office should deal with case of the retired generals.

--TWO MARTYRS IN SILOPI

Two Turkish troops have been killed in clashes with PKK terrorist. Terrorists opened fire on security forces in rural area near Silopi town of the southeastern province of Sirnak, injuring two troops. They were rushed to nearby hospitals, but could not be saved.

--SURPRISE STATEMENT AT CRITICAL DAY

Government Spokesman Cemil Cicek, speaking after the Council of Ministers meeting, reacted against "Ergenekon" case and "closure case" which he considered at the same platform. Cicek said Turkey lost prestige in the world because of the cases in question.

"Turkey has been taken into pincers because of the two cases, and should get rid of the uncertainties soon," Cicek said.

--SINAN AYGUN RELEASED

Ankara Chamber of Trade Chairman Sinan Aygun, who was arrested within the scope of the Ergenekon investigation, was released on Monday upon the initiatives of his lawyers.

--BOMB AGAINST PKK HIDEOUTS AT BORDER

Warplanes bombed PKK hideouts at the border region in Yuksekova town of southeastern province of Hakkari on Monday night. Ground operation, participated by soldiers and village guards, started in the morning after the bombings.

--CREDIT CARD INCOME OF BANKS DROP BY 50 P.C. AFTER LIMIT ON INTEREST RATES

Credit card income of Turkish banks dropped by 50 percent after the Central Bank and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency placed limits on interest rates. Mehmet Sezgin, Director General of the Garanti Payment Systems, said that, with the new arrangement in interest rates, banks' profits from credit cards dropped to less than 20 percent. Credit card interest rate was 5.5 percent last year. It is now 4.39 percent.

--ISTANBUL TO EARN 50 MLN EURO FROM "WATER"

Istanbul is getting ready to host the 5th World Water Forum between March 16 and 22, 2009. Istanbul would earn 50 million euro from "water tourism".

--BALANCE SHEET OF ERGENEKON

The indictment about the Ergenekon probe has been disclosed at last. The indictment includes 35 thousand-page evidence against 86 suspects. Prosecutor Zekeriya Oz demanded terms ranging from 6 months to life imprisonment for 86 suspects. An additional indictment will be prepared for retired generals Sener Eruygur and Hursit Tolon and Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Chairman Sinan Aygun.

The indictment included the attacks on the Cumhuriyet daily's headquarters in Istanbul and members of the Council of State. Despite the allegations, the assassinations of Dink and Santoro, killings of publishers in Malatya, coup diaries were not given place in the indictment.

--NEW SURPRISE FROM PROSECUTOR: AGARTA

According to the indictment of the Ergenekon probe, the alleged criminal network Ergenekon is a sect-like organization based on the 600-year legend of Agarta.

Some sources describe Agarta as the legendary underground city in Tibet where information about world's history, the oldest faiths and cosmic teachings was kept in hidden archives. Other sources depict Agarta as an organization established by monks from the lost island Atlantis who were waiting for the day when they would return to the surface of the earth from their underground sacred cities.

--MILITARY PROSECUTOR TAKES ACTION

The military chief prosecutor called prosecutor Zekeriya Oz, who is carrying out the Ergenekon probe, at 10:00 p.m. on July 1 when retired generals Sener Eruygur and Hursit Tolon were arrested, and asked him to send copies of all documents seized in the houses and offices of the pashas.

Istanbul Public Chief Prosecutor Aykut Cengiz Engin said cases were filed against 86 people, 48 of them pending trial, within the scope of Ergenekon investigation on charges of, "founding and administering armed terrorist organization, and attempting to overthrow Turkish government."

Chairman of Ankara Chamber of Trade (ATO) Sinan Aygun was released. Speaking to reporters after his release, Aygun said he was the guest of the state for 15 days. Aygun said he would make statements after ATO assembly meeting today.

--SINAN AYGUN RELEASED

Chairman of the Ankara Chamber of Trade (ATO) Sinan Aygun was released from prison after having been detained by security forces two weeks ago under the Ergenekon probe. "I was a guest of the Turkish state for 14 days. With your permission, I am not talking much today. I will make statements following the ATO Assembly meeting on Tuesday," Aygun said. Aygun was released from prison at 21.32 on Monday.

--SENER TO BEGIN MEETINGS FOR A NEW POLITICAL PARTY

Former Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener said Monday he would begin meetings for a new political party as of next week. Sener was a member of the Justice and Development Party (AKP).

--SECT OF ERGENEKON

The indictment made public by Chief Prosecutor Aykut Cengiz Engin yesterday, has revealed that the Ergenekon had a sect-like organization. The Ergenekon consisting of cells, took the legendary underground organization Agartha as a model for itself.

In the indictment, 86 suspects were accused of establishing an armed group. The prosecutor demanded life imprisonment for leaders of the group.

--DILOVASI AND ISMET DESTROYS ORGANIZATION

Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Aykut Cengiz Engin has filed the indictment about the Ergenekon probe after 13 months. The indictment gives broad place to the depositions given by two secret witnesses coded as "Dilovasi" and "Ismet". Dilovasi told the prosecutor about the unsolved murders during tenure of retired Gen. Veli Kucuk in the northwestern province of Kocaeli.
