At least three injured in a gas bottle explosion in southwestern Istanbul

"It was determined that the explosion was caused by a gas bottle. It definitely was not caused by a bomb or a terror attack. The injured are not in a serious condition," Istanbul Governor Vali Guler told the broadcaster NTV.  Â

The incident happened during the busy lunch rush in the Bakirkoy district. TV channels reported the cafe was located in the basement of a five-storey building and parts of the building have collapsed as a result of the explosion. Â

NTV also said four exploded gas bottles were found at the scene.

The head of the Istanbul Fire Department, Ali Karahan, also confirmed the cause of the blast, adding the building was evacuated as a safety measure.

Earlier Dogan News Agency said at least four people were injured in the explosion.
