Turkey, Syria agree to swap convicts

DAMASCUS - Ankara and Damascus signed an agreement on Thursday to exchange their nationals serving time in jail in Turkey and Syria.
Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Şahin and his Syrian counterpart, Mohammad al-Ghafri, also agreed on mutual aid in legal and commercial matters. Under the agreement, convicts will be able request a transfer to serve out the rest of their sentences in their own countries.
