Turkey expects US support for EU bid

ANKARA - Turkey's chief negotiator for European Union talks, Egemen Bağış, said Turkey believed U.S. support for the country’s EU bid would continue during the Obama administration, at a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Ankara James Jeffrey yesterday.
Meanwhile the U.S. Special Envoy to Middle East, George Mitchell has arrived yesterday in Ankara and met President Abdullah Gül.
