Turkish forces seize 3.5 tons of hashish in security forces' operation

ANKARA - The Turkish gendarmerie forces have seized 3.5 tons of hashish in an operation conducted in the southeastern of the country on Saturday. Officials said the hashish would be sold to provide financial support to the terrorist organization, PKK.

The raid was conducted in Yalaza village in the north of southeaster
The security officials said the operation was the largest conducted in the recent years.
In 2008, total 30 tons of drugs were discovered in more than 10,000 operations. Around 25,000 people charged in 2008 for the crimes related to drugs.
