--SHE READS NAZIM AND CRIES
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan wife Emine Erdogan read Nazim Hikmet's poem "Kiz Cocugu" (The Girl) which is about Hiroshima and burst into tears at the first ladies summit that convened to call for an end to what is going on in Gaza. "There is a huge humanitarian tragedy in Gaza," she said. "Gazan children just want milk, bread, toys and to learn, go to school and play."

KILINC RELEASED, SAHIN ARRESTED
Former National Security Council Secretary-General retired general Tuncer Kilinc was released by the court pending a trial. Prosecutors sent 12 people --including former head of Special Forces Department Ibrahim Sahin, his nephew Yasar Oguz Sahin who is also a member of the special forces, businessman Hudai Unluer, former Istanbul Mayor Bedrettin Dalan's son Baris Dalan and police chief Engin Erkilincoglu-- to court.

--HERE IS AMMUNITION OF LIEUTENANT COLONEL
The Milliyet daily newspaper reached the photographs of the third arsenal of Ergenekon (terrorist organization) after ammunition found in Umraniye and Eskisehir. Police seized AK-47 (kalashnikov) rifles, cartridge clips, bullets, different kinds of rifles, binoculars, knives, and two license plates in one-storey house of lieutenant colonel Mustafa Donmez, working in the Logistic Department of the Land Forces Command, in the northwestern town of Sapanca. 22 hand grenades were found in a basket in the bath, and 9 mm bullets were seized in a box.

--PEACE CALL WITH HIROSHIMA AND TEARS
The spouses of Middle Eastern leaders, who came to Istanbul upon an invitation of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's wife Emine Erdogan, called for support to Gaza. Speaking in tears, Erdogan said, "death of children is the death of innocence, and the death of innocence is the collapse of humanity." Erdogan read the poem written by Nazim Hikmet for Hiroshima named "Kiz Cocugu" (The Girl).

--"HUMANITY, EXTEND YOUR HAND"
First ladies met in Istanbul to call for an end to attacks on Palestine. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's wife Emine Erdogan read a poem of Nazim Hikmet, and was burst into tears. Syrian President Bashar al-Asad's wife Asma al-Asad and Queen Rania of Jordan also participated in the meeting. Emine Erdogan said, "I am voicing my agonies as a mother. Attacks are the death of innocence and the collapse of humanity. Humanity, extend your hand."

--TUNCER KILINC RELEASED
Retired general Tuncer Kilinc, who was detained within the scope of the Ergenekon investigation, was released. The prosecutor demanded "judicial control" but the court released him. Six more people have also been freed.

 --REASON FOR ARREST: CELL HOUSES

-It has been claimed that some army officers, arrested within the framework of the Ergenekon investigation, set up a secret organization with some administrators of the Labor Party for "country defense" named "Cell Houses." It has been learned that prosecutors asked colonel Cengiz Koylu about the claims that were notified to the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) two years ago regarding "cell houses". Army officers Muhammed Sarikaya and Taylan Ozgur Kirmizi are being interrogated regarding some assassination plots. It is claimed that two officers were involved in an assassination plot against an Armenian businessmen in Sivas; Ali Balkiz, the head of Alevi-Bektasi Federation; and Kazim Genc, the head of the Pir Sultan Abdal Culture Association.

--EMINE ERDOGAN HERALDED TRAGEDY OF GAZAN CHLIDREN TO WORLD BY NAZIM

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's wife Emine Erdogan spoke in a women's meeting for peace in Palestine, and was reduced to tears during her reading of "Kiz Cocugu" (The Girl), a poem by Nazim Hikmet. The wives of Qatari, Jordanian, Pakistani and Lebanese leaders participated in the meeting. Erdogan read the famous poem Nazim Hikmet wrote for the children killed in Hiroshima, with tears in her eyes. The poem reads, "children should not be killed, they could also eat candies."

-- "A PLOT TO TARNISH HONORABLE PEOPLE'S NAMES"

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal pointed out that intellectuals and gang members were detained together in every wave of Ergenekon operations.

"The purpose is to tarnish reputable and honorable people's names," Baykal said.

 

"Some figures, which are impossible to bring together in life, are shown to be members of the same clan. Ibrahim Sahin's (former head of the Special Forces) name is in the same file with Sabih Kanadoglu (former chief prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals) who caused Sahin's conviction," he said.

--EXCAVATED HOLES EMPTY

Police could not find anything after a 10-hour excavation which was launched at two locations in Ankara when some sketches were seized in Ibrahim Sahin's home. It was claimed that police searched for weapons and explosives as well as bodies.

--FOUR SOLDIRES ARRESTED

Four of six army officers, detained within the scope of the Ergenekon investigation, were arrested on charges of being a member of the terrorist organization. No other evidence, expect arms and ammunition was seized on Friday, was found in the excavations carried out on Saturday according to sketches found in the house of Ibrahim Sahin, a former head of the Special Forces Department.

--HAPPY END FOR NAZIM

Poet Nazim Hikmet Ran became a Turkish citizen again. The decision that lifted a Council of Ministers decision made in 1951 that stripped Hikmet of Turkish citizenship was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.

--BLOODY GLOCK PASSED ON BY SEVERAL PEOPLE TO HITMAN

Prosecutors, who followed text messages on cell phones, think that the Glock gun used in the attack against the Council of State was passed on first from Ergin Erkilincoglu, a member of the Special Forces Department, to Ibrahim Sahin, a former head of the department who was also a convict of the Susurluk case. Then the gun was passed on from Sahin to retired captain Muzaffer Tekin. Tekin passed on the gun to Alparslan Arslan, who staged the attack.

--SIGNAL FOR REDUCTION IN NATURAL GAS

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said that he had earlier promised the consumers that the price of natural gas might be reduced. Guler said, "We are making calculations, and we will end our calculations till the end of the month."
