Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), developed by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) with the contribution of 80 countries, in Geneva on Monday.

Turkey will participate in the ceremony that will be held on Oct. 21 as observer country.

 

The LHC is a gigantic scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles that are the fundamental building blocks of all things.
