THY is in discussions with Air Bosna for possible acquisition

Turkey's flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) has started talks to purchase Air Bosna, Hurriyet daily reported. Bosnian government owns 51 percent of the Air Bosna-B&H Airlines, while the rest belongs to Bosnian state company Energoinvest. The company established in 1994 and began its activities in 1997.

The firm initially started with rented planes before the purchase of two Airbus planes. The company suspended its activities due to increase in its debts. The new Bosnian government started a project to renew the company in 2004. The firm has engaged in Lufthansa System Agreement. It has 90 personnel. Â

Air Bosna-B&H Airlines has an international status;Â member of IATA (International Air Transport Association), SITA (A multinational information technology company specializing in providing IT and telecommunication services to the aviation industry)Â and Amadeus (A computer reservations system selling tickets for multiple airlines).
