PM Erdoğan: US tank found in PKK camp

Speaking at the Council of Foreign Relations in New York on 27th September, Prime Minister Erdoğan said that rising opposition to the US in Turkey is largely the result of American policy toward Iraq and PKK terrorists entering Turkey from Northern Iraq.
“We have found arms of US origin on PKK terrorists we have caught, and heavy artillery such as tanks and canons, again from the US, were found in camps that were raided. The US has also confirmed this," said Mr. Erdoğan.
Mr. Erdoğan said that he had not received a satisfactory explanation about how American weapons wound up in the hands of the PKK, which the US has designated a terrorist organization, but added that he hoped to address the issue in upcoming talks.
"We will hopefully be able to hold a meeting with the president. Our foreign minister has held a meeting with Condoleezza Rice, and was assured that the issue would be shown great sensitivity,” Erdoğan said.
Erdoğan called on the UN General Council to join together in the fight against terrorism. “I curse terror that is a threat to everybody’s future," he said during his 15 minute speech.
