Southern Cypriot authority complains to UN and EU: Turkey is threatening us

With the current "petrol exploration" crisis looming on the horizon with Ankara, the Southern Cypriot authorities yesterday complained about Turkey's actions to both the United Nations and the EU.
Despite denials from General Yasar Buyukanit of the Turkish military's General Staff that anything unusual was afoot in the movement of Turkish war ships into the open waters off of Cyprus, Southern Cypriot television stations were dominated by news of developments in Ankara. Southern Cypriot leader Tasos Papadopoulos reportedly complained to international authorities that Turkey was "threatening the Cypriot Republic."
