The Turkish Parliament is meeting today in a closed session to discuss the developments in Iraq. According to parliamentary regulations, closed sessions may occur after the written request of the country's Prime Minister, one other cabinet minister, and at least 20 MPs. Records of such closed sessions in the Turkish Parliament are kept in sealed envelopes, and are not to be made public within 10 years of the session itself.
There are currently 43 sealed, unopened records of previous closed sessions of the Turkish Parliamnet sitting in a locked safe in Ankara.
