Hamas' Meshaal: We received support and advice from Turkey

Speaking yesterday in Ankara following meetings with ruling Justice and Development (AKP) Party leaders, including Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, Palestinian Hamas leader Halid Meshaal said that he and the Hamas delegation had received Ankara's advice, warnings, and support during contact with Turkish authorities. Meshaal also noted that the Palestinians took the AKP's success with both democracy and the economy as examples.

Making his first visit outside of the Arab world in capacity as a Hamas leader, Meshaal met in AKP headquarters with FM Gul, as well as AKP Deputy head Dengir Mir Mehmet Firat, Saban Disli, Akif Gulle, and Sukru Ayalan.
Speaking further at a press conference following meetings, Meshaal said:
"Just as the whole world does, we also accept Turkey's help. Our contacts with Turkey will continue in order to bring about the rule supremacy of justice, and peace."
