On his way from Moscow to Samsun yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke positively about the state of the Turkish-Russian relationship, noting that for the first time in 14 years, the Kremlin viewed its ties with Ankara as being undisturbed by problems. Putin was on his way to the opening of the Mavi Akim (Blue Flow) natural gas pipeline in Samsun.
Sergei Prihodko, foreign policy advisor to Putin, said that the Russian premier and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would be having face to face meetings in Samsun, and then noted "In the recent period, there has been a very productive working atmosphere between our two countries. There are no more problems surrounding the Chechen issue, nor the question of the struggle against terror."
